On the occasion of his event Kia EV Daythe South Korean manufacturer presented two new concept cars: they foreshadow the new 100% electric models that will soon expand the Kia range. THE Concept Kia EV4 announces the introduction of a 100% electric four-door sedan that stands out with its avant-garde styling.

To dust off the traditional sedan, Kia opted for a rather compact silhouette, equipped with a tailgate and impressive lines, following the wave of increasingly successful coupe SUVs. We find geometric characteristic lines, prominent wheel arches or even a refined front marked by a vertical light signature that we also find at the rear.

Kia EV4 Concept: a cocoon for leisure and travel

Inside this Kia EV4 concept car we find futuristic and warm atmosphere, with clumsy lines that echo the exterior style. The floating instrument panel is stretched horizontally and extends to the doors with a subtle light signature. We find on this a a huge panoramic plate functions as a dashboard and infotainment screen, or even a two-spoke steering wheel with a very futuristic style.

Several special features maximize cleaning, such as an air conditioning control panel that can be tucked away in the center console when not in use. The interior offers a “cocoon” atmosphere for both its occupants and its occupants Modes of mind which regulate ambient lighting and ventilation. In the “Perform” mode, the driver receives all the information necessary for efficient driving, while the “Serenity” mode helps to create a calmer atmosphere that promotes reflection and relaxation.

Natural and sustainable materials on board

The interior of the Kia EV4 Concept is inspired by the Earth: natural dyes were applied to 100% recycled cotton, using madder root and walnut shell, offering an almost endless range of tones and shades. The fabric strips have been woven by hand and then applied to the storage compartment and instrument panel: an artisanal approach that creates an elegant and useful 3D effect.

Kia chose natural materials on board, as well as hemp fibers : “Hemp is a fast-growing plant that requires few resources to grow”Marilia Bill, Kia’s CMF Design Manager (Colour, Materials, Trim) explains: “Not only is it very strong, but it’s also very moldable, which means it’s a very versatile material to work with, and it further enhances the interior of the EV4 Concept with its beautiful rich color. »

By 2026, Kia plans to sell one million electric cars per year and reach 1.6 million annual units by 2030. For this purpose, a range of electric vehicles is planned at a price of approximately 28,000 to 75,000 euros, including models of segments B (city cars) and C (compacts). which will be aimed at attracting European customers.
