Nio: his arrival in France is inevitable! Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your inbox

After Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway, Nio is going to land on 6d European market: ours ! THE Chinese premium manufacturer, after several months of announcements in this direction, seems to have (almost) all the keys in hand to officially introduce it in France. The brand has just announced the team that will lead its rollout in France: Nicolas Vinceno, who spent 2 and a half years in Shanghai, was appointed general manager of the brand.. He will be supported two former Tesla managers: Pierre Auguste in the sales department, Eric Bunn in the service department. The three men have worked together over the past months (and at their own discretion) to allow – just one year after the introduction of Nio in 4 European countries – its arrival in France.

Physical points of sale

Nicolas Vinceno made this official on his LinkedIn account: “I look forward to working together on this exciting new adventure and want to use all the best practices and lessons learned from my experience to make our European expansion a real success. “. Nio, unlike other Chinese manufacturers, decided to bet on a network of physical points of sale, and not 100% online. Its first dealership will open in Paris, with a larger rollout in the territory expected. The brand is an outsider among Chinese automakers, being the only one that can really claim the title of premium. It offers models with more advanced design and technology than the average, and that’s why it is a strong competitor for German brandsbut also for Tesla.

There are 5 models in the range

There are currently 3 models in the European assortment. SUV EL7 (a rival to the BMW iX) and sedans ET5 (BMW i5) and ET7 (BMW i7). but ET5 will be supported by a wagon version next year, ET5 Touring. The EL7 will see the arrival in its segment of the EL6, a large electric SUV with a more chiseled and sportier profile. In France, Nio will have to compete with its compatriots XPeng and BYD, in addition to the main European premium players. Since the beginning of the year, the brand has sold 1,548 cars in Europe (according to CarNewsChina), including 883 in Germany, its first market on the Old Continent.
