It is no secret that the days of thermal cars are numbered. Indeed, from 2025 manufacturers will be prohibited from selling vehicles with thermal or hybrid engines. So all new cars leaving dealerships from that date will be 100% electric. Brands must therefore adapt and electrify their range as quickly as possible. This is, for example, the case of the DS, which currently only has one electric model, the DS 3.

A new variation
But apparently this will not last long, as the entire Stellantis group plans to stop selling thermal cars in the coming years. Clearly, the high-end firm will have to adapt and is already planning a transformation of the model we know well. Indeed, the recently facelifted DS 7 will receive an all-new engine during 2025. The latter will abandon gasoline and hybrid engines and become 100% electric. Then it will rely on Medium platform STLA.
What we already know
It slowly starts its deployment and equips already new Peugeot e-3008 introduced a few weeks earlier. This new version should use the engines of the Lion SUV, as well as its two batteries, providing a range of up to 700 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. Note that the DS 9 will later receive the same treatment, although it will be deeply transformed, drawing inspiration from the Peugeot 408.
