To counter this phenomenon, countries are taking measures to help their populations. You have necessarily heard about a loss-making sale in France. An idea that quickly became rolled over by various market players. Instead, the effort rests with the distributors. Actually, the latter claim that they sell their fuel at cost. A decision that is already bearing fruit, as prices in France have fallen very slightly.

France is far from exceptional in Europe when it comes to high price fuel Assistance to the population has been established among our neighbors.

Italian aid

New help in France?

In France, several aid measures were introduced in 2022 to cope with the sudden increase in fuel prices. There is help in 2023 still valid. Fuel commission of 100 euros for those who use the car for professional purposes.

If this help stopped 2024, the head of state said during his interview on September 24 on TF1 and France 2 that he wants to renew this assistance in 2024.

As for new aid to France, the program does not provide for it. As noted above, efforts are focused on distributors. After fiasco sales at a loss, this is fuel at cost accepted by distributors. Now we will see how the situation will develop.
