Mini-electric city cars are on the rise in Europe. They come with inexpensive models, but very well equipped: Leapmotor T03, DR 1.0, BYD Seagull to name just a few… Today, a new actor arrives on the Old Continent: Dayun.
ES3, Dayun’s first model for Europe
This unknown Chinese brand actually exists the new automotive division of the Dayun conglomerate, a giant industrial group that sells heavy trucks and motorcycles. This year, it launches car production with Dayun as an affordable division and Yuanhang as a premium division. At Dayun, the first model to set foot on European soil is the ES3, a mini city car that will compete with spring Dacia, exactly This is a very compact model: only 3.70 m long, with five doors, four seats and The volume of the trunk is 255 liters. Under the hood, it has a small electric motor with a capacity of 48 horsepower and a battery of 33.5 kWh, which allows theoretical electric range of 300 km. Top speed is electronically limited to 100 km/h, and consumption is standardized to 10.7 kW/100 km. Fast charging is offered as an option, and in this case the ES3 can pass from 20% to 80% autonomy in 54 minutes. At the moment it was not launched only in Germany, priced at 27,490€. We still don’t know if there are plans to sell it in France, but whatever happens, it will face stiff competition from Dacia Spring, which will be restyled in 2024…
