Will the situation finally improve for drivers who have found themselves at the throat of rising fuel prices? Unfortunately, this is not yet the case. And it is not for nothing that diesel fuel has risen in price by 22 cents since the summer, and this trend continues to grow in the coming months. And this time gasoline and diesel fell almost everywhere in the rest of Europe. Does the problem come from very high fuel taxes? No doubt the government is unwilling to act at the moment.

A slight decrease

Finally, if he refuses to implement least discount or compensation, on the other hand, it puts pressure on distributors to make the move. In this way, the state declares that it will soon be possible to sell fuel at a loss. But how will it affect motorists? Will it be interesting? The answer is yes, according to Olivier Veran, a government spokesman. The latter explains that we ” talking about almost half a euro potentially less per liter“. Which therefore equates to a discount of about 50 cents at most.

Not all the time

The latter, however, reminds that “we are not saying that petrol will drop to €1.40 at all stations within six months. There will be periods during which the French can go to stations, refuel and find shelter for a few days or a few weeks.“. It is actuallypermission, not obligation. But distributors don’t seem very inclined to follow this measure, which is already causing controversy.
