
This is a model we know well in the Mini range. Clubman, extended and family version “classic” Mini, has been driving on our roads since 2007 and its first generation. A year after the second generation of a chic city car, the BMW concern (the owner of Mini) decided to ride the wave of compact minivans. Very popular in Europe at that time. A project that makes even more sense because Premium alternatives are quite rare in the segment. Then the British group revived the forgotten name, born in 1969 as a station wagon Mini: Clubman.
A real Mini, more convenient for the whole family
Now in its third generation, dating back to 2015, it stays true to the style and DNA of the modern Mini. Soft lines, a friendly face, a chic interior, illuminated inscription “Union Jack” on the rear lights. It stands out with a sliding door in the back and a trunk volume of 360 liters, which is significantly more than that of the Mini. Several engines were offered at the time: two gasoline versions, a 150-horsepower diesel and a more sporty “John Cooper Works” version, which increases the power to 360 horsepower and sends it to the wheels via four-wheel drive. The final edition… to set the stage for the Countryman
To say goodbye to him a special version under the sober name “Final Edition” was introduced in the range a few months ago. Limited to 1,969 copies, 123 of which are reserved for France. It shows some aesthetic and technical features and costs 46,000 euros. What about replacing it? Unfortunately, it will not be, at least in this form. This was confirmed to British colleagues from Top Gear by Stephanie Wurst, head of the Mini brand.
