For several months, the tension has been increasing. Indeed, although it has been more than a year since fuel prices have risen sharply across France, motorists have rather adapted to the situation. But this is gradually changing, as discontent is beginning to be expressed. Solidarity efforts
Indeed, the state has been punishing the distributors for several months, accusing them of demonstrations margin too high. And this despite numerous promotional offers implemented by them in recent months. But the government does not budge and refuses to give in and, above all, come to the aid of drivers. Instead, Energy Minister Agnes Panier-Rounachet wants to increase pressure at gas stations and oil groups. The latter, in fact, spoke on this topic in front of the France Inter microphone a few days ago.
Additional pressure
She explains that “ Next Tuesday I will gather the distributors and ask them to show solidarity“. She continues: ” certain distributors have been operating at cost (…) and I will ask them to continue this type of operation because I believe that the French cannot afford to pay more for fuel and this is not a topic on which these actors should have a significant margin“. On the other hand, it is not about providing any help.
