Now at the 2023 Munich Motor Show, the Bavarian firm is previewing the future of its 2025 models with the BMW Vision Neue Klasse concept car, which features the next generation of infotainment. BMW iDrive.

With this new version of its iDrive system, BMW aims to transform vehicles into digital experience spacewith a display and control concept that enables new types of interaction between the driver and his car.

BMW iDrive: a new experience on board

The new BMW iDrive system is characterized four elements : central touch screen, multifunction steering wheel, 3D projection display, as well BMW Panoramic Visionwhich, as the name suggests, is a panoramic screen located at the base of the windshield that faces both the driver and passengers.

This BMW Panoramic Vision is complemented by a new generation3D projection display which projects useful driving information onto the windshield directly into the driver’s field of vision, such as navigation instructions or driver aids, in the form of 3D animation.

In addition, future BMWs will have a new multifunctional steering wheelwith integrated controls, tactile feedback and multi-level technology that allows you to operate the BMW Panoramic Vision and 3D display without taking your eyes off the road for added safety.

Finally, new central touch screen has a unique design and intuitive touch controls. Regardless of the external lighting conditions, the built-in matrix backlight technology ensures high resolution of the display, bright colors and strong contrast.

The future BMW iDrive system will use a new software architecture as well as a new generation of operating system BMW OSintelligently connected to the BMW Cloud as well as the user’s digital ecosystem for more interactive and immersive driving.
