
Since 2017 Mercedes E-Class SUV offers customers an adventurous alternative to the Mercedes E-Class wagon with an SUV-inspired exterior. Today, the German manufacturer presents on Munich Fair his latest creation, the E-Class All-Terrain, a departure from the new generation E-Class, was recently unveiled.
We always find a characteristic stylewith a specific front bumper with an SUV-style double grille, dark gray wheel arch extensions, underbody protection, 18-inch wheels or even a stronger rear bumper.
The boot features a stainless steel boot sill guard, and inside there are AMG stainless steel sports pedals and floor mats with the All-Terrain logo. Side loading capacity: from 615 to 1830 liters of trunk and from 460 to 1675 liters in the hybrid model.
Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain: all-wheel drive as standard
In the standard configuration, we find the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain All-wheel drive 4Matic, as well as Airmatic pneumatic suspension for increased ground clearance. Thanks to the off-road mode, this model does not promise great throughput, but it develops completely safely on rough terrain, such as dirt roads.
Various technologies are present, such as the “transparent cover”, which is part of the 360° camera and which facilitates maneuvering in case of poor visibility. there Airmatic air suspension automatically lowers the ground clearance by 15 mm when the speed reaches 120 km/h to reduce air resistance and improve fuel economy.
Three electrified engines
Under the hood, the model offers a choice between three engines : diesel, gasoline and hybrid. Options diesel (E 220 d – 197 horsepower) and essence (E 450 – 381 hp) turbocharged are mild hybrids equipped with a new battery and electric motor with a capacity of 23 hp and an additional 205 Nm of electric torque.
there plug-in hybrid engine (E 300 de) offers an electric power of 129 horsepower, a maximum electric torque of 440 Nm, as well as a 100% electric range of up to 100 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. In electric mode, you can move up to 140 km/h.
The Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain will be presented at the Munich Motor Show, which will open from September 5 to 10, 2023. Marketing is expected the first quarter of 2024at rates to be announced later.
