As part of its aim to expand its global infrastructure of charging stations, Mercedes-Benz will inaugurate its first fast charging stationsequipped with high-power charging stations, for this fall: fromOctober 2023the first Mercedes-Benz charging stations will be operational in Atlanta (USA), Chengdu (China) and Mannheim (Germany).

By the end of 2024, Mercedes plans to expand its global network of fast charging stations to more than 2000 powerful charging points. The long-term goal is to create more than 2,000 charging centers by the end of the decade so that more than 10,000 charging points in total.

Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs: a global fast charging network

With its own charging network Mercedes-Benz charging hubsThe German manufacturer sets new standards for fast, convenient and environmentally friendly charging for electric vehicles. The charging points will offer a charging capacity of up to up to 400 kWand will be equipped with standard connectors Combo CCS1, Combo CCS2, NACS and GB/T. Thanks to intelligent charging management, each car can be charged at maximum capacity to reduce charging time for customers to a minimum.

Mercedes chose the location of its charging stations with a desire to offer pleasant and safe customer experience. Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs will be located near major traffic arteries as well as at selected Mercedes-Benz dealerships and will offer amenities such as refreshments, snacks and restrooms.

Modern charging stations

for Ensure safety, the charging stations will be equipped with surveillance cameras, and smart street lights will illuminate the station and report the presence of the charging station and the vehicle’s charge status. Some charging centers will also have canopies for protection from the elements.

With the development of its powerful Mercedes-Benz charging network, the German firm is expanding its existing offering, including the European Ionity fast charging network, as well as a recently announced joint venture with six other OEMs to expand the charging infrastructure to North America. This powerful charging network is the key element global electrification strategy from Mercedes-Benz Mobility.
