Great autonomy
For the first time, the German sedan is available in an unprecedented version 100% electric version, named i5. The latter is offered in two versions, 40 and M60, with power from 335 to 590 horsepower. Autonomy is declared at the level of 582 kilometers maximum according to the WLTP cycle. But the manufacturer will also launch plug-in hybrid versions in addition to petrol and diesel versions. And now we’re starting to learn more about them. And in particular regarding their autonomy in electric mode, which promises to be very impressive.
More than 100 km
If the 550e xDrive version will require 79 to 90 kilometers, which is already more than good compared to most competitors, then the 530e version is even stronger. Indeed, the latter proclaims an autonomy that can to reach 101 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. And this is thanks to the 19.4 kWh battery. Charging will take three hours at a maximum output of 7.4 kWh on DC and ten hours from a household outlet. The engine will claim between 299 and 489 horsepower depending on the selected version.
