The famous German tuner Manhart Performance is becoming interested in classic models that are increasingly becoming fashionable. Manhart Classic Cars just introduced Manhart MH3 3.5 Turboa drug based on the very first BMW M3 (E30)sports version of the second generation BMW 3 series.
To make this model more impressive, Manhart replaced the 2.3-liter four-cylinder with a block 3.5-liter straight six with turbochargingborrowed from the Alpina B7 S Turbo, the fastest production sedan in the world at the time, based on the first generation BMW 5 Series (E12).
BMW M3 (E30): six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 405 horsepower
This unit developed 330 horsepower and 500 Nm, but this was apparently not enough, as several modifications were made to it. Manhart added a turbocharger and intercooler, as well as a manual boost controller that frees up to 405 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque : that’s more than double the original 195 horsepower engine!
Engine power is sent to the drive wheels through a five-speed manual transmission along with a Drexler differential with 25% locking and an aftercooler. A custom exhaust system also improves the model’s performance and sound, while new Brembo brakes improve the M3’s braking performance.
Manhart MH3 3.5 Turbo: Best M3 E30?
Aesthetically, the Manhart MH3 3.5 Turbo received a matte dark green wrapper, carbon fiber front spoiler, carbon fiber rear spoiler, smoked taillights, and contrasting red trim. 19-inch Manhart Concave One light-alloy wheels in matte black are shod with 215/35 R19 tires at the front and 245/30 R19 at the rear. The H&R suspension kit also improves the car’s handling.
Inside, there’s red leather upholstery, a 350mm three-spoke Momo sports steering wheel and a Manhart signature wooden gear lever knob. To the left of the central vent a display of digital data allows the driver to control many parameters such as engine temperature or turbo pressure.
