Fuel: prices will rise again in the summer News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your inbox

Gasoline and diesel prices have been very high for several months. True, we had a bit of a lull between spring and summer, but with the start of the holidays, prices skyrocketed. So much so that some service stations will match or even exceed the bar of two euros per liter. The situation is obviously very difficult for motorists who have no choice but to suffer through this price increase. Especially since these fell throughout the rest of Europe, except us. And it shouldn’t improve over the next few months.

Another rise

Indeed, we should still expect prices to rise very soon. And at the same time, the latter increased sharply in July. But then what is the cause of this outbreak? To be honest, it’s quite simple and it’s not the first time this has happened. Actually, oil producing countries, such as Saudi Arabia or even Russia, are planning to raise the price per barrel in the coming months. To do this, OPEC members decided to cut their production by about a million barrels per day in July. And this slowdown was also confirmed in the month of September.

It is not finished

But that’s not all, as the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries recommends reduce production even more until the end of next year. As a result, you will have to expect a very strong increase, which will be long-lasting. Added to this are the very high taxes applied in France per liter of fuel, which risks exploding the bill for motorists. Not to mention the demand, which is very high now, especially in the summer.
