We will remind, it was in 2007. Then the Grenelle de l’Environnement announced a series of measures, including the introduction of an eco-tax for road transport. It certainly caused the ink to flow, but met with very strong unpopularity. So much so that it was launched in 2013 the red cap crisis, which led to the destruction of many gates. The government decided to abandon this project, which simply disappeared. But now the latter is returning, very slowly, during this summer period.
🗣️ @CBeaune calls on road companies to lower toll rates: “I think it’s important that they make a commercial gesture of at least 10% for families going on holiday by road. »

A new eco-tax?
This time the idea comes from Main infrastructure management, transport and mobility. In any case, this is explained by “Courier Picard”, which is aware of the document. The last will be a response to Xavier Bertrand’s March 22 letter to Transport Minister Clément Beaune“. The government is indeed considering the possibility of returning the eco-tax, but for now on one motorway, namely A1 which connects Paris with Northern France. But at the moment, journalists are not revealing any details about this project.
big works
At the moment we don’t know either. how much will the tax be? and whether this would apply to all trucks or only those in transit from abroad. However, there is no doubt that this measure will cause controversy in the world of road transport. If the implementation date of this measure had not been announced, it could be done quickly. Indeed, serious work is already underway on this track with a view to the Olympic Games in 2024?. At that time, portals could be installed.
