When you own a car, you tend to do everything you can to keep it in good and top condition. And even if you are not an enthusiast, everyone is afraid to find their damaged car. But, unfortunately, this often happens, while vandalism takes many different forms. Flat tires, torn windshield wipers, scratched body or even broken windows. If those who are insured have little chance of receiving compensation, then others can only cry their eyes out. And, unfortunately, it can happen to anyone and no one is immune.

Ile-de-France, but not only
But which departments are most likely to see damage to your car? Well, SRA (Security and Automotive Repair) wanted to answer this question, which compiled a list of the most affected places. No wonder it is Bouches du Rhône which come first, with a frequency of 4.08% of vandalism. The department is followed by Paris, then Seine-Saint-Denis and the Pyrenees-Orientales. Sart then arrives at the foot of the podium, followed by Haut-de-Seine and Rhône. On the other hand, your car will be safe in both Vaucluse and Ayrault.
Variable cost
But the cost of repair is not the same depending on the units. It is in Bouches-du-Rhône that this is the highest figure, an average of 205 euros. Next comes the Haute-Corse at around €193 Val d’Oise and Sarthes. This means that some departments experience more “soft” vandalism, that is, with minimal damage. But that doesn’t stop it from being very infuriating, and you shouldn’t resist filing a complaint if it happens to you. Also, don’t forget to report the damage to your insurance.
