Since arriving in 2021, he has risen through the ranks Renault’s bestseller: Arkana. Born in Russia in 2019, this model then presented a world premiere of a category never before seen from a wide manufacturer: coupe crossovers. At the time, it was a silhouette mostly found among premium German manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz has the GLC coupe, BMW has the X4. “Why not me?” Renault said to himself. Designed and created primarily for Russia and the former Soviet republicsthe new model is based on a Inexpensive Duster platform. To its name, the Arkana, Renault clearly demonstrates its goals to increase sales in this area, in parallel with the Kaptur, also made to order. Finally, two years after the Russian adventure, Renault decides to import Arkana to Europe…
A successful bet that inspired others…
To meet European comfort standards, we replace the Duster platform with the most modern European Captur (without K). Three engines are offered: two gasoline engines of 140 and 160 horsepower and a Full hybrid with a capacity of 145 horsepower. The latter represented 55% of model sales in the first half of 2023. A good bet for Renault, which has made a bet on a full hybrid as an alternative to diesel, which it has historically been very good at. Arcana was even in 2022 the third best-selling French manufacturer (31,638 units), behind Clio and Captur! Its unique silhouette (Since then, Peugeot has responded with its 408, Citroën with its C4X), its attractive prices and the sobriety of its hybrid engine are its main arguments. In two years, Renault has just reworked its crossover coupe a bit. Sorry scrub!
Cheaper than before
New logo, new light signature, new radiator grille all in diamonds as featured on the new Rafale. And that’s about it for external changes. The main event is the overhaul of the range, which now focuses on three trim options. Evolution, with standard LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen, air conditioning, reversing radar, lane keep assist, and cruise control/speed limiter. Decoration technical adds a 9.3-inch touchscreen and 100% digital gauges, along with 18-inch wheels. Great news: at the top of the range now sits the “sporty chic” Esprit Alpine. It replaces the RS Line, including heated front seats and semi-autonomous driving level 2. The nice surprise of this update is that it lowers the price of the Arkana! The entry-level Evolution now costs €33,000, up from €34,000 previously. Expect €34,600 for the Techno and €37,600 for the Esprit Alpine. Enough to continue the success of the model a few more years…
