Since entering the market in 2012, Tesla has always been a bit of an outlier, sometimes seen as a true UFO compared to more traditional manufacturers. But the company managed to make a name for itself by offering innovative products, as well as a network of efficient charging stations. And if you follow automotive news or just own an electric car, you know how important this is. And Elon Musk’s company has understood this and continues to work on expanding its Superchargers network. But that’s obviously not all, because he wants to make them available to everyone.

A new partnership
France has everything electric cars compatibles can now connect to these fast terminals. But in the US, things are a little different, because Tesla has its own standard for outlets. Therefore, other cars must have a compatible system, which requires establishing a partnership with an American firm. Ford has already taken such a step, but now another brand wants to do the same. This is volkswagen, which is currently considering a partnership with the manufacturer. In any case, this is what Michael Steiner, a member of the board of directors of the German group, claims.
A new alternative
The latter explains that the German firm ” would like access to additional charging infrastructure“, without saying more at the moment. But we do know that North America will thus be the target of this partnership, which will give car owners of this brand access to more 12,000 fast terminals. However, we do not know if this will affect the entire Volkswagen Group or just the namesake brand. It will probably take a while before we get confirmation and learn more about this project.
