From 2035, the sale of thermal cars will be completely prohibited in the entire territory of the European Union. A measure that is obviously very far from unanimity among manufacturers, but also among motorists. And it is not for nothing that zero-emission models remain very expensive and not very affordable for most drivers. In addition, this decision forces them to increase their investment in the development of new models, while the ranges change profoundly. Therefore, many cars end their career by replacing them 100% electric models, more or less directly. This is especially true for the Ford Fiesta, but not only.

The end of an era
Indeed, another model also just retired, which no one was informed about. This is the Nissan Micra, which has just left the catalog, as well as the brand’s production lines at the Flins plant. Therefore, it is no longer possible to order a new copy on the website while it is still available for those who wish. Thus, the thermal city car is said goodbye after 41 years of work experience, in complete indifference and without any tribute from the manufacturer. But it will not leave a void in the assortment for long.
Future replacement
Indeed, the city car released in 1982 will definitely go, it will really be replaced. There is no new generation in the program, but slightly different model will see the light of day in the assortment, probably by 2026. This will be a redesigned version of Nissan’s future Renault 5, which will appear in the Renault catalog from next year. At the moment, we still don’t know much about this upcoming Micra replacement, which will compete with the Volkswagen ID.2 and other Citroën ë-C3s.
