Volvo, Polestar, Lynk&Co, Zeekr, Lotus, Smart, Aston Martin… We regularly talk to you about the Chinese car group Geely, which multiplies the launch of the brand and cooperation with well-known manufacturers. As if that wasn’t enough, a few months ago Geely announced the launch of a new brand called Galaxy. Unlike its fledgling brands, Galaxy won’t be limited to all-electric models.

In total, serial production of seven models is planned. Understanding three electric models and four hybrid models. These cars will be responsible for representing the premium segment in the Geely group. The brand should eventually become the new standard bearer of the manufacturer. It will compete in China with YangWang, the new brand of big rival BYD ! The Galaxy is currently only available in China. However, the brand plans to export to Europe taking advantage of the distribution networks of Volvo, Polestar and soon Zeekr…

A new brand with big ambitions

Of the seven models planned for the long term, Galaxy has already announced three. Two models are hybrids and one is fully electric. For the electric model, Geely uses it well-known SEA platform (Smart #1, Lotus Eletre, Zeekr 001). The Galaxy will offer a sports sedan that will compete with the Audi e-tron GT and the Porsche Taycan: the E8. If the brand decides to enter the European market, The E8 has a good chance of being the first model to set foot on our land.

Its release in China is scheduled for the end of 2023. Hybrid models will be based on E-CMA platform. It is already used by the Lynk&Co 01 and 02, as well as the Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, among others. It will be a large SUV called L7 and a a mid-size sedan called the L6. Both will be available in the Chinese distribution network by autumn 2023.

A large charter hybrid sedan

today, Galaxy presents its first model: the hybrid sedan L6! Aesthetically, it is a real success. Both angular and curvedit reflects modern design with light stripsits black roof, its handles flush and its panoramic roof. She carries a Gasoline turbo engine 1.5 l which develops 390 horsepower in combination with an electric unit. Galaxy is already announcing future sports version with a capacity of 663 horsepower.

There will be a choice of three batteries: 9.11 kWh, 18.7 kWh and 19.09 kWh. In fact, the autonomy will range from 48 to 105 kilometers on all electricity. That’s all we know about him for now. Again, Geely is hitting hard with this new brand and this new model, which is light years away from the lackluster styling and poor quality of the first models…
