When it comes to creating special editions, Porsche’s marketing teams are never short of ideas. After all, how to prove that they are wrong, because each special series is sold out at the price of gold.

Today we are interested in a rather special model, as it is a limited edition for the French market only. As the name suggests, the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the world’s most famous race and Porsche’s history at the legendary Sarthe circuit.

Echoes of the past

Exclusively reserved for the French market and limited only 72 copiesthis 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition echoes the Porsche 356 SL and 911 GT1.

25 elements have been developed and homologated specifically for this 911. For example, we find on the outside a badge milled by hand on the rear grille, as well as a badge that displays the circuit layout in blue, white and red in 3D. The interior includes certain elements such as the outline layout embossed on the center armrest, the 24 Hours of Le Mans logo on the headrests or even the door sills with the model’s monogram.

The color contrast is inspired by the Porsche 356 SL, the first Porsche to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and class winner on June 23, 1951, between the Le Mans Silver body color (which is a new color) and the Graphite Blue interior. the exterior number 46 (the number it wore to victory in 1951) and the interior decorative inserts of the 2023 model. The 911 is decorated with Aurum wheels, side panels and red belts inspired by the 911 GT1. which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998 with two French drivers at the wheel.

No changes under the hood

Under the hood, however, nothing has changed compared to the classic 911 GTS. 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine from 480 hp are still in the game, and all are linked to an eight-speed PDK transmission or a seven-speed manual transmission.

The car comes standard with several items that are normally optional on the GTS, such as Sport Design side skirts painted in black, Graphite Blue leather door sill trim, and PDLS Plus tinted headlights, GT Sport Leather in Graphite Blue . with decorative chalk stitching and 12 o’clock markings in the same color or velor on the center sections of the one-piece bucket seats.

In addition to this standard gift, each customer will receive an individual key case, a special interior cover and a personalized book with photos of their car at the Zuffenhausen factory and Exclusive Manufaktur workshops. The price of this miracle? 237,819 eurosnot to mention the €50,000 fine that is common in France.
