Buying a new car is actually not easy. Indeed, you should already have time to make your choice among the many models offered. Then you need to find financing. Then you have to wait, sometimes several long months, before the car is delivered. In short, a real obstacle course that prompts many drivers to take advantage of the opportunity. So much so that prices have really risen in recent months. But this alternative has a number of advantages, and not only in terms of price. Because the quality is also higheras evidenced by a recent study.

Decrease in quality
This is how the American organization JB Power explains the overall quality of current cars is declining. The latter points out that “the automotive industry has to deal with a very wide range of quality problems, a phenomenon that has never been seen in the 37-year history of this research on the initial quality of cars.” According to JD Power, there were an average of 180 problems per 100 vehicles in 2022. This year, that number has risen to 192 issues. For comparison, in 2021 there were only 161 of them. In particular, spread of screens and other on-board systems, which significantly complicates new cars.
Unequal rating
However, not all builders are in the same boat. For example, Alfa Romeo ranks 3rd, behind Dodge and Ram, even though it was one of the worst in 2022. Porsche also does very well, as does Kia, Lexus and even Mini and Nissan. On the other hand, Tesla and Polestar still have a lot of work to do to improve their performance, which is quite poor. This also appliesAudi, Volkswagen or even Volvo, which are far from the top in terms of quality and even more so reliability. But there is no doubt that they will improve over time!
