to get together a long trip to the motorhome requires little preparation. Between overhauling the car, planning route, residence, activity AND hobby, that’s a lot to think about! Even before departure, another test awaits you: the suitcases and package necessary for your stay. Sleep, food, tools and hobbies, the list can be continued for a long time. Also, below we’ve detailed the “must-haves”, i.e. the most important equipment and accessories you can’t forget!

Sleep and comfort

  • Sheets and blankets/blankets
  • Pillows
  • Meatloaf (if very hot)
  • Mosquito net

Cooking and nutrition

  • Camping stove with a gas cylinder
  • Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, spatulas, spoons, etc.)
  • Plates, bowls, glasses and cups
  • Cutlery (knives, forks, spoons)
  • Opener for cans and bottles
  • Cutting board
  • Universal kitchen knife (“that cuts”)
  • Coffee maker or kettle
  • Cooler box or portable cooler if you’re going to be out of the car for a few hours (with ice cube trays!)
  • Food storage bags
  • Cleaning products (sponge, dishwashing liquid, kitchen towels)

Lighting and energy

  • External lights (lamps, torches or headlights)
  • Spare batteries for lamps
  • External battery or solar charger for charging electronic devices
  • Adapters for different types of electrical outlets (especially European if you are camping)

Garden furniture and equipment

  • Folding table
  • Folding chairs
  • Floor mat/mattress for chaise longue
  • An umbrella or awning from the sun
  • Clothesline and clothespins for drying clothes
  • Portable BBQ or grill (think charcoal and lighters!)

Hygiene and toilets

  • Soap, shampoo and other personal hygiene products
  • Sunscreen and mosquito spray
  • towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Hygiene products (disinfectant gel for hands, napkins, etc.)
  • First aid kit (bandage material, antiseptic, medicine)
  • Garbage and trash bags

Practical tools and equipment

  • Tire repair kit (air compressor, tire sealant)
  • A basic set of tools (screwdriver, pliers, hammer, etc.)
  • Jumper for the motor home battery
  • Reflective vest
  • Warning triangle
  • Extinguisher
  • Road maps or GPS

Entertainment and leisure

  • Board or card games
  • Books and magazines
  • Outdoor game (balloon, rackets, Molkky…)
  • Cell

This is a fairly general list, maybe too comprehensive, but you can make it as detailed as possible so that you don’t forget anything, even small necessary accessories ! Have a good trip and have a good rest.
