Elon Musk continues his world tour of countries where some of his events are likely to take place. After France, where he was several times and where he indicated it “Tesla was most likely going to invest heavily”, the leader visited India, where he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This possible collaboration between Elon Musk and India may go beyond Tesla, as the leader explained that he also hopes to bring the services offered by his company Starlink to the country.
New Gigafactory in India?
Thus, Tesla is set to settle in India soon, but the details are still unknown. Last month, Elon Musk said he would announce the location of the new gigafactory by the end of 2023, and that India stood a good chance of being selected as a “host country”.

In May, several Tesla executives visited India for a series of interviews and to discuss the terms proposed by the authorities for the production of cars and batteries.
Some analysts believe that Tesla will take an approach in the country similar to those adopted for entering Chinathat is, first with the creation of a commercial network, at the second stage – the chain of final assembly, and at the end – the construction of a real factory.
India and Elon Musk are conquering space
Elon Musk also has “space” ambitions with India and SpaceX, which owns Starlink. Indian authorities are negotiating the involvement of other American companies and the development of the aerospace sector. India, which has paved the way for private startups in 2020, wants to increase the turnover of its companies by five, and to do this, it needs to attract several foreign investments in the sector.
Elon Musk can play a key role in this. And it could choose India as its new “base” in Asia to reduce its dependence on China and take advantage of favorable terms offered by the government to two of its companies: Tesla and SpaceX.
