Despite its reputation as a reliable company, the Japanese firm is not immune to several technical malfunctions that can lead to recall campaigns: in the United States, Toyota has recalled about 300 units of Toyota Camryfor a significant security issues.
Toyota Camry: a serious safety issue
This safety issue affects some of the latest generation Toyota Camry models, including vehicles with hybrid powertrains.
Indeed, the Japanese manufacturer noted that on the corresponding vehicles it is possible that wheel nuts don’t be not tight enoughwhich can cause significant problems when the vehicle is in motion.
In fact, lug nuts that are too loose can loosen and come off, causing the wheel to detach from the vehicle after low-mileage use. Toyota is taking the issue very seriously as the wheel comes off the car while driving may result in loss of vehicle controland possibly an accident.
Toyota Camry: 300 units recalled
The Japanese firm recommends that owners of affected vehicles not drive their cars until repairs are made. Starting June 15, 2023, Toyota began contacting affected users through multiple communication channels.
For all affected models, Toyota dealers will be responsible for inspecting the end nuts and tightening them to specifications. If any components are found to have been damaged by this issue, they will be damaged replaced free of charge for owners
The recall currently affects approximately 300 Toyota Camry units in the United States, and no information has been released at this time regarding any implications for the European market.
