The weight and volume of the trunk are fined

However, everything is not so rosy, and hybrid models also have certain disadvantages. To start with their weight is greater than that of the thermal model from which they originate. Battery failure, of course, but also electric motors that support the thermoblock. To be able to place them, manufacturers also reduce the volume of the trunk, the battery is located most of the time a little lower, in the rear overhang. Auto Plus Lab wanted to do a study to find out which hybrid suv offered the best trunk compared to its competitors. Answer with help 20 star SUVs on the market.

Big disparities

The big winner is Toyota RAV4, 654 dm3, well ahead of its competitor Kia, which puts its Sorento in second place with 623 dm3. The first five models in the rating are Asian (Japan and Korea), so it is necessary go to 6d and 7d places where you can find French people, presented by Renault Austral and Citroën C5 Aircross. Of course, these numbers must be analyzed in light of their respective sizes and segments, which naturally create discrepancies. It should also be noted that plug-in hybrid models are penalized more due to the larger battery size.
