Will the health care crisis affect car dealerships? Yes and no. Indeed, even before the pandemic, several manufacturers, such as Ford and Volvo, abandoned certain exhibitions, considering these events unprofitable and preferring to focus on their own events, so as not to drown their new products among many others.
After the healthcare crisis, several other brands followed suit, also preferring to focus on their own presentations. But as we saw last September, the absence of some pleased others, especially at the World Championships in Paris Asian manufacturers took advantage of the empty stands of traditional European brands to take up space.
Interior updates will pass through Detroit?
But is this really the end of fairs? A priori no, because the Paris Motor Show, unless surprisingly, is supposed to be updated, the Munich Motor Show is new (replacing the Frankfurt one), and the Geneva Motor Show has just been moved to… Qatar.
Better yet, the Detroit Auto Show, scheduled for September 13-24, refueling is expected for the first time since 2019. Indeed, show officials have confirmed that Ford, General Motors and Stellantis are fully committed, with a full lineup of vehicles. In general, The organizers expect that there will be twice as many exhibitors as last year.
Living rooms that evolve
Several new exhibits are planned, including unmanned activities with life-size experiences. The show will also host the inaugural Global Mobility Forum, a two-day event dedicated to the changing world of mobility and transport, as well as the trends and challenges the automotive industry has and will continue to face.
According to Detroit Auto Show President Ted Zott, this event will be a revolution for the industry and the show: “Automotive technologies are changing very quickly. How can we communicate this to future customers? We’re planning a show that will not only inspire and spark people’s curiosity about these new technologies, but will also captivate.”.
