Porsche unveils its ‘new’ logo 15 years after its last update. This will be seen on all models released from the end of the year, and as you can see from the photos, the changes are quite small.
The Stuttgart-based company’s logo retains black, red and bronze colors, as well as a prancing horse inspired by the symbol of the German city.
Smooth evolution
For Porsche, this is the sixth logo in history, after the logos of 1954, 1963, 1973, 1994 and 2008. The changes are quite minimal: the disappearance of the embossed patterns on the bronze elements, the appearance of honeycomb patterns inside the red part and a new metallic and satin coating that gives the logo an even more premium look.
As such, this logo will be attached to future Porsches from the end of the year, and it will first appear on the model during the presentation of the new concept car on June 8. On this day, Porsche will organize a special event dedicated to the 75ththousand anniversary of the release of roadster 356 No. 1, the first car of the German brand homologated for roads.
Porsche’s short-term future
The brand hasn’t given much indication about this famous concept, other than what it will represent “vision of the sports car of the future”. Some rumors are related to the presentation of the electric prototype 718 or the concept of the successor of the hypercar 918 Spyder.
In addition to the June 8 celebration, Porsche is expected to unveil the next-generation Panamera and the more extreme Taycan before the end of the year. An electric Porsche Macan is also expected next fall, while the second phase of the 992 should arrive within a few months. Before that, Porsche will also introduce the 911 ST, something like a GT3 RS without fins and ultra-limited models.
