The manufacturer Goodwood is launching a new special edition Rolls Royce Cullinanbaptized “Blue Shadow” : limited to 62 copies worldwide, it is inspired by the Kármán line, a mysterious invisible boundary located 100 km above the Earth’s surface where the Earth’s atmosphere ends and space begins.
“With Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow, we venture into the legendary Karman Line, where the limitations of Earth give way to the infinite freedom of outer space: a zone of unparalleled beauty, mystery and limitless possibilities. In creating Blue Shadow, Bespoke’s team of designers, engineers and artisans captured this spirit as they embarked on their own journey of discovery, once again pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship. Blue Shadow is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence and a celebration of the exploratory spirit created for unique individuals who expand horizons and represent the best in human endeavours.”– said Torsten Müller-Otwesch, Chairman and CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan Blue Shadow: Inspired by space
Based on the Black Badge Cullinan version Rolls-Royce Cullinan Blue Shadow has a specific ‘Stardust Blue’ paint job that contrasts with the satin grille housing the emblem The spirit of ecstasy.
This was produced using a 3D printing technique on titanium and covered with a thin layer of blue varnish, which allows the grain texture of the titanium to be revealed. A similar treatment was applied to the rims, slightly darkened with translucent varnish.
There is inside gradient inserts “Blue Shadow” on the instrument panel as well as on the door panels, on which at least six layers of paint are applied to create a three-dimensional effect, combining five different shades of blue with a deep black shade, as well as a transparent layer with blue glass particles. The dash also features a custom-made clock with light blue anodized details and ‘Blue Shadow’ engraving.
