Fuel price has always fluctuated to a greater or lesser extent depending on the period and many parameters such as supply and demand among others. We remember, for example, that a liter barely exceeded the mark of 1.20 euros during the first imprisonment and a little later, when travel was prohibited. A lot has changed since then, though war in Ukraine went through this too. As a result, prices literally soared to such an extent that gasoline and diesel fuel regularly exceed the mark of two euros per liter. A situation that greatly complicates the life of motorists.

Falling prices

And the discount at the gas station, as well as the fuel surcharge of 100 euros, established by the government, did not change anything. Nor has it stopped prices from skyrocketing over the past few months. Nevertheless, we did note a slight drop in gas prices over the weekend of May 1. So diesel lost 4.2 cents in one week to reach €1.72 this Friday, April 28. For its part, unleaded 95 E10 became cheaper by 3.5 cents. Thus, a liter is now priced at 1.88 euros. Good news for drivers.

A big gap

So, with this drop, diesel fell to its lowest level since last September. Thus, the gap with gasoline widens because both reflect a the difference is 16 cents. Unheard of since October 2016! At that time, diesel cost 1.14 euros per liter, and gasoline was priced at 1.30 euros. Diesel fuel is again more affordable than unleaded, which has not been the case for several months, and in particular the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
