Government promises, we know them, and sometimes they are very hard to believe, especially since some never actually come true. We will remind, in May 2020, Emmanuel Macron said, for example, that he plans to install no less 100,000 charging stations throughout France by the end of 2021. Except that more than a year after that deadline, that goal still hasn’t been met. But it will be soon, when the country will have more than 95,000 charging points at the end of March. The good news was confirmed by Clément Molizon, general delegate of Avere France. The latter says that this week, by May 5, we will finally pass the milestone of 100,000 terminals.
The eastern district of Saint-Rambert on the street@A7Traffic from July 18 will offer 2 electric charging stations for refrigerators. It is an economical, ecological and quiet alternative to noisy and polluting diesel generators. https://t.co/YF2YFVSF5Q

Relative delay
According to the press secretary in an interview with the daily 20 Minutes ” it would be a mistake to think that France was late on this subject” because it’s not. Indeed, we recently overtook Germany in the number of terminals and are very close to the leader, namely the Netherlands. But what then explains this delay in relation to the goal? Clément Molizon recalls that the latter was originally scheduled for the end of 2022, but former transport minister Jean-Baptiste Jebbari brought it forward a year to speed up the pace. According to him, ” after all, we have it four short months late for the original purpose“, which is not serious.
Some improvements
However, the general delegate emphasizes that not everything is perfect and some points still need to be improved. Regarding, for example, the level of accessibility, which still has room for improvement, although it is constantly increasing. Now it’s 86%, which is still quite correct. The spokesperson also explains that there is ” a range of services and equipment that will be invented to facilitate the use of these terminals“, like benches or shelters. Finally, the network should also continue to expand over the next few years.
