In 2022, Volkswagen introduced one of the most powerful Golfs ever produced: the R “20 Years”. A year later, the company from Wolfsburg will again start talking about a somewhat special Golf, which, first of all, is produced in a limited series.

It’s called the “Golf R 333 Limited Edition” and, as announced in the first official teaser, it will be published on May 31.

Unique details

A short video released by Volkswagen on its YouTube channel highlights the main details of this new model. In particular, note the black stickers with the number “333” on the door sills, blue “R” logos (contrasting with the bright yellow body) and 19-inch Estoril light-alloy wheels with blue brake calipers.

Other elements give away the car’s leanings, starting with the glossy black mirror housings and the four Akrapovic tailpipes, which promise a rather sporty sound.

Volkswagen should introduce us to the interior through a new teaser, which will undoubtedly take place a few days before the official presentation of the model. You can already imagine the presence of leather and alcantara on the seats or even a small metal plate with the numbering of a limited series.

Just as powerful and just as expensive

“333” can also mean the number of copies of this special edition exceeds the power of the four-cylinder 2.0-liter TSI. Like the Golf R 20 Years, this new Golf can evolve 333 hp and 420 Nmwith a speed from 0 to 100 km/h 4.6 seconds and top speed is electronically limited 270 km/h.

This limited edition can be distinguished by special chassis settings, new driving modes and full standard equipment without additional options. Knowing that the Golf R 20 Years starts at €64,345, this new version can certainly play with 70,000 eurosexcluding penalties.
