
Stellantis just joined Wedding ring made of nickelto guarantee a supply of 170,000 tons nickel sulfate and 12,000 tons cobalt sulfate “Battery quality”, for a period of five years.
This raw material, which will be used to produce batteries for the European group’s electric vehicles, represents about 40% of the annual production planned for the NiWest project in Western Australia.
Stellantis: contract for the supply of electric batteries
Stellantis also invested 9.2 million euros to acquire 11.5% of the shares of the Alliance Nickel business with the purchase of new shares and the right to appoint a director to the board of directors of Alliance Nickel.

These agreements for the supply of cobalt and nickel and the purchase of shares of the company strengthen an already established partnership between Stellantis and Alliance Nickel in October 2022. The two companies have indeed agreed to a binding memorandum of understanding to supply raw materials for electric vehicle batteries.
Stellantis: a strategic plan for electric vehicles
As part of its strategic plan Dare forward 2030Stellantis awaits to sell 100% electric passenger cars in Europe by 2030 and 50% of electric cars and pickup trucks in the United States. Thus, the Franco-Italian group plans to halve CO2 emissions by 2030, and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2038.
