After slowing during the Yellow Vest crisis and then the health care crisis, the ticketing machine has resumed its cruising speed. We do not change good habits in France: now there are more than 40 million HP which are made every year, that is, as many as there are motorists.

Indeed, with the privatization of radar cars, next-generation automatic radars or even automated parking control, it is difficult to miss the important thing… The appearance of new radars and the increase in the number of ZFEs across the country should not make matters worse, and the government’s aim is do not release the pressure.

Departments are more concerned than others

However, by relating the number of PVs to the population of each department, we find that the probability of getting a ticket is very different throughout France.

Indeed, in its latest report, Road Safety published several maps, including a map the number of PV compared to the population. This map is based on where the offense occurred, and we can only observe that certain departments are in better shape than others.

This is, for example, in Ile de France and in PACA region that you are more likely to get PV. In general, the north and south of the country suffered more than the west, such as in Brittany, Pays de la Loire or Centre-Val de Loire, where the probability of being fined is much lower.

In the absolute sense, it is so Paris that the palm of the championship of the most profitable department passes, p 591,339 HP compiled in 2021, followed by Seine-Saint-Denis (259,427), Nord (209,234), Bouches-du-Rhône (185,015) and Val d’Oise (157,469).

There are also large differences in increasing the number of issued tickets : it was in the Côte d’Or that this progress was most impressive, between 2020 and 2021: +31%! Then come Croesus (+29%) or Loire (+24%).

In some departments, on the contrary, there was a decrease in verbalization: they fell by 21% in Vaucluse and by 17% in Maine-et-Loire and Loire.
