
Launched in 2003 Bentley Continental GT was the first model of the brand in the era of Volkswagen, which was updated in 2017 by the second generation. To celebrate it properly 20th anniversaryBentley has planned four months of celebrations, starting with the presentation at the Shanghai Motor Show of the unique Continental GT S.
It exclusive one-time was custom designed by Mulliner, including commemorative badges, inserts and graphics to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this luxury British coupé.
Bentley Continental GT: a unique model in Shanghai
The exterior styling of this GT S is adorned with the “Magnetic Dark Gray Metallic” paint associated with the Black wheels 22 incheswhich contrasts with the red brake calipers and red trim on the side sills.
This combination of black and red can also be found inside with two-tone Beluga/Hotspur upholstery contrasting with Piano Black inserts. The instrument panel has a “Granite stone” veneer. enlivened by a horizontal red bezel finished off with a laser-engraved ‘Grand Black’ inlay that pays tribute to 20 years of the Continental GT.
The set has been supplemented threshold pads specific, embodying two silhouettes of the 1st generation Continental GT and the latest generation, symbolizing 20 years of modern work. A reminder of this design is also found on the center console, as well as on the LED welcome light integrated in the doors, with a unique pattern.
Bentley Continental GT: symbolic anniversary
The anniversary of the Bentley Continental GT also coincides with 20 years of the W12 engine Bentley’s 6.0-litre biturbo, which will sadly cease sales in spring 2024 to be replaced by an electric motor. On the Continental GT, this W12 allows a top speed of 300 km/h, accelerating to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
Various events will be held this year for the 20th anniversary of the model: in Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 13-16, 2023) Bentley will pay tribute to its W12 with a dynamic display, while two test centers celebrate 20 years of the Continental GT, one at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe and the other in Geneva, Switzerland: they will allow Continental models to be driven GT from the Bentley Heritage Collection, as well as the latest Continental GT range.
At the end of the celebrations of this anniversary during Monterey Car Weekwhich will run from 11 to 18 August 2023, Bentley will present the unique latest Continental GT, inspired by the first model that rolled off the Crewe lines in 2003, the model with VIN 20001, which has remained in the company’s ownership ever since as part of the Bentley Heritage collection.
