Radar cars: here is the solution so they can drive in ZFE Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your mailbox

Cars with radars have been driving on French roads for several years. A practice that is still controversial even today, especially since it is carried out by employees of private companies. That is, the driver is not a juror report speeding. However, this is still what these vehicles do, driving for several hours a day and even at night, regardless of the time. Except these cars will be at risk in the long run. We are talking about the ZFE, which will soon be banned for diesel cars. This creates a real problem for these companies and the state.

Updating the fleet

In fact, diesel cars will soon no longer be allowed to drive in the majority low emission zones. And this is even if it is not officially enshrined in law, as the deputy noted recently. But private radar cars will disappear not because of that, but on the contrary. As the website radars-auto.com reports, new cars are entering the fleet, this time with gasoline engines. Thus, they will be compliant with the current policy. Especially since the number of special economic zones will increase significantly until 2025.

Not so simple

If diesel engines were chosen for the radar cars, it is because the on-board ticketing system requires a certain amount of power. However, getting it with a gas block will not be easy. Therefore, changes will be made to the radars so that they can work in all circumstances. On the other hand, we are not yet ready to see the arrival electric cars in fleets, due to their high price and still too low autonomy.
