It was Ford’s first global electric model: the Mustang Mach-E. Later, it was in this niche that the Dearborn company earned its legendary sports car: the Mustang. He mutated in 2020 to a funny crossover, a coupe and an SUV located among themselves. It was recognizable by the three-stripe taillights introduced on the first Mustang in 1964. The Ford logo has disappeared in favor of a mythical horse (in this case a mustang) prancing. Sleek headlights and an aggressive look were also a relapse mythical pony car. Even its name, Mach-E, is a reference to the Mach 1, the sporty version of the very first Mustang from 1964. Although Ford recently introduced several new electric models (F-150 Lightning, Tourneo Custom, Transit Courier, Explorer). It is currently the only electric model in the line in France and Europe.

Universal compact crossover

This compact SUV competes in Europe with electric Renault Mégane, Toyota bZ4X, Skoda Enyaq iV or Kia EV6. We are waiting for an avalanche of electrical novelties in the coming months! We offer traction or four-wheel drive, its power levels range from 269 to 487 horsepower. Its speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5 seconds, depending on the version. It offers two batteries of different capacities. The first, with a capacity of 76 kW/h, provides a range of 440 kilometers. The second promises 99 kWh 610 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. Mach-E supports fast charging up to 150 kW; for Autonomy from 20 to 80% is restored in 26 minutes fast charging (battery 99 kWh).

Cheaper, but still overpriced

We offer three configurations : Mach-E, Premium and finally GT. The availability of equipment increases, the number of motors/battery size changes accordingly. Until now, the basic Mach-E trim was exchanged for a minimum of 61,650 euros. For a single engine, 258 horsepower, and a battery of 76 kWh. But to match Tesla’s price war on its Model Y, Ford has slashed the price of its electric crossover! The configurator now shows 56,990 euros, which is almost 5,000 euros less ! Citroën recently performed the same operation on its already inexpensive ë-C4. If you add to that environmental bonus of €5,000, it becomes available from €51,990. Cheaper than before, of course, but still too expensive compared to the competition. The Mustang name pays off! The recently introduced Explorer will lead the offering a more affordable alternative to the Prancing Horse.
