This is a scene we don’t want anyone to experience. On Saturday, April 8, 2023, shoppers at a shopping center in Cardiff (Wales) had to wait over three hours in a cap. Faced with this exceptional situation, motorists decided to leave their cars there.
They leave their cars because of the traffic
If you don’t like seeing people at the weekend when you go shopping, we don’t recommend this St David’s in Cardiff at all, or you’ll end up tearing your hair out… or worse! Until customers were stuck in traffic for many hours in the parking lot, where they left their car. In the videos, the atmosphere seems tense, and the sound of horns is deafening.
In the face of this chaos, motorists preferred public transport or taxisand hurry home after this hellish day…
This was the scene when hundreds of people were stranded in a multi-storey car park in Cardiff last night. Some people even decided to leave their cars because the parking lot was “frozen”. https://t.co/XeOkJFjBxo pic.twitter.com/iAMrSFAXtz

According to the press, traffic jams started to form at 2:30 p.m. and they still stopped at 4pm! We had to wait up to 8 p.m. to ensure traffic flow. A waste of patience indeed. Customers would then return in the evening or even the next day to collect their car.
30-meter line of cars
According to those present at the scene, “nothing moved.” In this maze filled with 2,000 cars, the images on social media evoke a feeling of horror.
However, the multi-storey car park was packed with cars on this pre-Easter Saturday. The client confirms the discomfort: “We covered 30 meters in two hours and were on the sixth floor (of the parking lot). The situation was barely improving when we left three hours later. People were honking their horns and many left their cars to get food and drinks and come back later.”.
@StDavidsCardiff how can you say that there is a traffic jam on the street???
I’ve been stuck at level 6 for 2 hours and still haven’t moved.
Just went outside to get supplies and here are the current roads… pic.twitter.com/99mEgaK3bC—HP (@HannahSianP) April 8, 2023
As for St David’s Shopping Centre, it’s the city’s fault that the red light was only allowed to pass very slowly. So this is what has led to this intolerable situation… We hope they change the sign soon or we will be experiencing this misery at every event.
