Another thermal model that is disappearing. Ferrari has stopped production of its sporty V8 F8 Tributo. A certain part of the history of the brand went with her, because she was the last distant descendant of the Dino 246 and its V6 engine. Launched in 1969, it was responsible for the Ferrari range at the time models that are more compact and less greedy than the V12 models of the time. These are mythical models that have occupied this niche for more than 50 years. 308/328/348, F355, through 360 Modena and F430. This F8 was released in 2019 to replace the 488, which itself is the successor to the 458 Italia. Now it exists in a closed version or in a roadster called Spider. It will remain in the range for a few more months, unlike the “classic” F8.

A good old thermal sports car

The evolution of the 488, it was actually more of a restyling this as a new unpublished model. We found the same distinctive silhouette, with that elegant elongated hood and that boomerang stern. Replaced by plug-in hybrid

Despite all these wonderful attributes, Ferrari decided to prematurely end the career of its sports car. Less than four years after launch ! The reason? With emission standards and the European Union’s strong desire to ban the heat engine in 2035manufacturers must adapt. Its indirect “replacement” is the new 296 GTB, no longer equipped with a V8 engine, but a more noble V6. Its feature is that it is connected to an electric motor, so this 296 is a pluggable hybrid. In combined power, it produces 830 horsepower with 900 Nm of torque. Ferrari announces a 25 km of fully electric travel. Released in 2021, it will not live long in the Ferrari lineup with the F8 Tributo…
