Launched in 2018 Jeep Wrangler fourth generation (JL) is already celebrating its 5th anniversary. On the occasion of the opening of the New York Exhibition 2023, the American manufacturer, a member of the Stellantis group, has just presented mid-career restyling of its iconic off-road adventurer that offers some new features.
“Jeep Wrangler is a true adventure hero that embodies the spirit and soul of the Jeep brand”said Christian Meunier, CEO of the Jeep brand: “Since launch, we’ve sold nearly 5 million Wranglers worldwide, setting new levels of 4×4 capability with each new generation. Today, we’re raising the bar again, unveiling the most powerful Wrangler ever with new technology, comfort and safety features. It’s a no-compromise combination, bolstered by the freedom to choose from four different powertrains, including our electrified Wrangler 4xe, America’s best-selling PHEV.”.
Jeep Wrangler: a more confident look
The main novelty of this restyling is focused on the front of the Jeep Wrangler JL: we still find signature grille with seven arches firm, but with a new look that appears to be one block.
Indeed, the honeycomb grille is surrounded by black inserts, all on a black textured background that encloses the two round headlights. On the most extreme version of the Rubicon, the kit features a Warn winch on the front bumper in a very aggressive style.
The catalog has new customization options, such as selection rims from 17 to 20 inches, as well as off-road tires up to 35 inches. Hard and soft tops also complete the offer.
Jeep Wrangler: 470 horsepower Hemi V8
Inside is a new 12.3-inch touch screenwhich is standard in the latest generation of Uconnect 5 infotainment system. New trim Sport S 4xe AND Rubicon X appear, with special and state-of-the-art equipment, although no less than 85 active and passive safety systems are on a rendezvous.
Under the hood, we still find a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 270 horsepower, a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 horsepower, as well as an impressive 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and 470 horsepower. The 4xe hybrid version has 375 horsepower.
