In France, a car is stolen every 4 minutes, and the chances of finding it are slim: only 39% of them are returned. Roll (formerly Club ID), France’s leading automobile club, launches a new device identify vehicles, help find them in case of theft: c Rx beacon.

“With this unique device, we offer our members a cost-effective solution to protect their vehicles from theft. This beacon will be offered over the next few months to all new Roole members through our dealer partner network »– says Romain Lebeg, Director of Product and Marketing at Roole.

Beacon Rx: How Does It Work?

This smart box uses a unique technology, which combines Bluetooth, blockchain security, and a community network. By the end of 2024, there will be more thanone million cars which will be equipped with this new technology, and Ruhl also wants to make the Rx Beacon available to the general public, for price 49 €.

Beacon Rx is hidden in the vehicle, and helps law enforcement find it if it’s stolen. Indeed, it can be detected at any time by law enforcement and the entire Roole community, which has more than 1.2 million members in France.

When a vehicle is reported stolen, the Rx beacon connects to its network to transmit location information and allows find the location of the stolen car. Location data is available secure and anonymous using blockchain end-to-end encryption technology.

Beacon Rx: Green Driving Assistant

Law enforcement agencies can use the app to find a stolen car Roll Protect, available in a secure Home Office repository: it allows them to detect any beacon within a 50m radius, whether the vehicle is moving or stationary. If the detected vehicle has been recognized as stolen by its owner, identification becomes easier and faster.

Beacon Rx also relies on a community network thanks to the app Roll Premium allowing Roole members to detect Rx beacons. Any participant who has the app and is within 50 meters of a stolen vehicle will anonymously and securely report the location of the Rx beacon to the authorities.

Finally, the Rx beacon also includes an eco-driving function: every trip is recorded by the Roole Premium app, which analyzes your driving behavior. AND evaluation of ecological driving provided to you with relevant advice to improve performance, fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions.
