Renault Captur has been on the road since 2019, so it’s time for him to switch to billiards in order to maintain his rank and face particularly tough competition in this segment. Knowing that he was released only a few months after the Clio, and that Renault will officially present the update of the latter on April 18, we can be sure that the manufacturer will do the same with the Captur without waiting too long. So what will this facelifted Captur look like?
Drawn with an eraser
Captur is a bit like a “crossover” version of Clio. Both models are very similar aesthetically, especially the front end, which in both cases shows the “Renault face” of recent years. If we turn to what we can see the updated Clio in the stolen photos we published A few days ago, we speculated that the Captur would follow the same path of simplification. It seems that the designers worked more with an eraser than a pencil. Example, the hook-shaped LED daytime running lights have to go.
In this way, the headlights will be simplified and can get double rectangular optics. As a result, the daytime running lights will move to a shield with shapes that resemble parts of a diamond, as we saw, for example, in the first image of the hydrogen concept car published last February. And of course, the new logo will take pride of place in the center of the grille. The logo, which will of course be found on the tailgate, whose shapes should not change, but which will also be surrounded by simplified optical units.
That will not change
If the appearance of the Captur needs to change, the interior, probably not. This is always very relevant. However, it can be expected new skins, perhaps to “ethical” fabrics. As well as minimalistic window management for automatic versions. And it would be surprising if the multimedia system did not benefit from a software update. Finally, on the side of the engine, go around, nothing is visible there.
The Captur’s mechanical range is indeed always very up-to-date, particularly its versions hybrid and plug-in hybrid. At best, we can hope for some progress in terms of batteries and power management. For improved “zero emission” autonomy. Confirmation in a few weekswe hope
