For a while, a lot happened on the Opel side. Indeed, the firm, which has been part of the Stellantis group since 2021, has made significant changes. This can be seen in the new models, from the Corsa to the Astra, which have undergone major changes compared to the previous generations of the General Motors era. But the German company obviously wants to go even further. And to comply with the will of the European Union, it will become 100% electric within the next few years.

New generation

Therefore, from 2028, all models sold by the manufacturer will be equipped with a zero-emission engine. And some of the first vehicles to adopt this strategy includeVauxhall Grandland. Entering the catalog in 2017, it underwent a minor restyling during 2019, losing its “X” in the process. Suffice it to say, it’s time for him to offer himself a real new generation. And that’s good, because it’s scheduled for next year. AND it will be 100% electric.

German production

At the moment, Opel does not provide us with information about the technical characteristics of its SUV, which should be deeply reconsidered. However, we know that it will always be a derivative of Peugeot 3008, which will soon also offer a new 100% electric generation. The fashionable new Grandland will be produced in Germany, withinEisenach plant. It is currently undergoing improvement works, and Stellantis has invested at least 130 million euros in its modernization.
