A Ferrari convertible with a V8 engine is a rare species: indeed, there were the California and the Portofino, but soon the family will expand, with a new model based on Ferrari Roma and which will be opened in a few days, this Thursday, March 16, 2023.
Although the model has already been seen during road tests, still in camouflage form, the Maranello-based firm has released the first official teaser video of the future Ferrari Roma Spiderwhich is accompanied by mysterious music that emphasizes the noise of the wind.

Ferrari Roma Spider: the convertible version is coming
In these first images of the Ferrari Roma Spider, we see a close-up of it leather steering wheelfeatures carbon oars as well as a corresponding insert in its lower part. The prancing horse logo sits proudly in the center of the steering wheel.
The mechanics and styling of the Ferrari Roma Spider should be very similar to the Roma coupe, which already shares a good family resemblance with the Ferrari Portofino M convertible. However, the Portofino M will likely exit the Ferrari lineup, with the arrival of the Roma Spider, which will share the same dimensions.
Under the hood we have to find a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 enginewhich will develop power over 600 horsepower. Enough to compete with the Bentley Continental GTC, Mercedes SL and other BMW M8 Cabriolets, even if the latter are not quite playing on the same playing field.
Ferrari Roma Spider: see you on March 16, 2023
The performances will be just as stunning, with a Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 3 seconds, even if the Spider version should be a few tenths of a second slower than the coupe version. The engine will be mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the different driving modes (Wet, Race, ESC off) will be accessible from the steering wheel via a button Manettino.
Ferrari’s advanced electronic control systems, such as Slide Slip Control 6.0 and Dynamic Enhancer torque vectoring, will also be on display.
If the Ferrari Roma’s styling isn’t substantially changed with this version of the Spider, the model will opt for a cabriolet, and it’s possible that the two extra rear seats will disappear for that matter. Inside, we should find a cabin similar to the coupe version, with an 8.4-inch portrait-format touchscreen on the center console, a 16-inch digital instrument panel in front of the driver, not to mention an additional screen in front of the passenger.
