
Lynk & Co. was the first brand of the Geely group to enter the European market, the Lynk & Co 01 SUV is offered for rent only from 2020. But unlike the Asian market, where this brand has a larger assortment, it is practically absent in our countries. a new one to get your teeth into since then.
It would seem that everything is about to change, as the Chinese firm has just presented the first teaser photos Lynk & Co 08, better known internally under the code name “DX11”. “08” is the upcoming five-seater SUV, which has already been announced with several pictures, in which we reveal the first details of the model.
Lynk & Co 08: a new SUV on the CMA 2.0 platform
We find the Lynk & Co 08 still camouflaged during testing on snowy roads, and a few shots of an uncamouflaged sample allow us to reveal the first details of the model’s optics.
Resting on The CMA 2.0 platform which will also power the next-generation Volvo XC60, the ’08 displays slightly larger proportions than the ’01, but with a family resemblance we owe to its sloping rear doors, which incorporate full-width flares. At the front, the headlights have a unique light signature that gives it a very futuristic look, extending to the fenders.
The model will also have flush door handles, a panoramic glass roof, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a large rear spoiler to give it a sporty look and improve aerodynamics.
Lynk & Co 08: battery hybrid engines
Lynk & Co hasn’t revealed the interior, but we have to find out large vertical touch screen located in the center of the dashboard, as well as a large screen that acts as an instrument panel. A new SUV must carry Flyme Auto infotainment system from Meizuwith many options for customization and connectivity.
Under the hood Lynk & Co 08 has to offer plug-in hybrid engines, which combines a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 180 horsepower with one or two electric motors, which allows you to offer an all-wheel drive version. Technology will also be there with a range of latest generation driver assistance systems.
In China, the Lynk & Co 08 will hit the market in the third quarter of 2023 and will complement the range in which we already find the Lynk & Co 01, 02, 03, 05, 06 and 09, not forgetting the electric scooter 04. The new Lynk is expected & Co 08 will be unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, opening on April 18, 2023. It will then go on sale in Europe, from 2024.
