The information came to us a few weeks ago: Renault Koleos is leaving Europe ! Already absent from our market for a few months (as well as Italy or the UK), it will be was gradually withdrawn from the countries where it resisted. This is the case Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Turkey. After the first generation released in 2006, a second Koleos of that name arrived in 2016. This large family SUV based on the Nissan X-Trail provided leadership in the range of Renault SUVs.

Just like his younger brother Qajar replaced on the Old Continent by a new model: Austral. Renault has indeed confirmed the inevitable arrival of a longer and more comfortable Austral for families, which will be called Espace. The Austral/Space duo uses a new name to make people forget it dull career experienced by its two predecessors in Europe (the Kadjar was based on the Nissan Qashqai).

Resistance in Korea

Koleos continues its career in some non-European markets. This is the case developing countries where Renault is present, as in South America and South Africa in particular. Already in 2020 its production has ceased in Chinaat the plant Dongfeng-Renault from Wuhan. Kadjars and Captur left the scene at the same time as him and formalized the failure of DRAC (Dongfeng-Renault Automobile Company). Renault Korea Motorslocal subsidiary of the manufacturer, offers it a the fourth face lift since its launch in 2016.
