Is the future of ZEP in France at risk? Nothing is less certain now. Nevertheless, it is true that discontent is slowly starting to grow, both on the part of motorists and on the part of the authorities. As a reminder, the government has planned that in 2025 all cities with a population of more than 150,000 will become low-emission zones. Thus, cars deemed to be the most polluting based on their registration date, rather than their actual license plates, will be banned from driving in these areas. A measure that is drawing increasing opposition, though some cities may finally back down. This is especially true for Marseille.

Indeed, MEPs Manuel Bompard, Sébastien Delogu, Hendrik Davy and MEP Marina Mezur from France Insumiz oppose the ZFE.
