That’s it, there’s not much time left until the Renault Espace (again) sees the light of day. Indeed, the large minivan, present for several decades in the Renault range, has recently disappeared. Indeed, the new boss of the brand, Luca de Meo wants to completely update the catalog with new and, above all, more modern models. And space is no exception. Especially when minibuses stopped being on the rise, and it has been for several years. But now the former star is about to return, in a completely new form. And we’re already starting to learn a little more about it.

New style
First, the new Espace will revise its design, now opting for an SUV rather than a minivan. As such, it will simply be a lengthened version of the Austral, thus reviving its well-known lines. Then this newbie had to be around 4.70 meters long to compete with the Peugeot 5008 and others. Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, among others. At least seven people can be accommodated on board, thanks to the extended rear overhang, while the wheelbase should not move. The instrument panel should be taken from the classic Austral.
Less than 40,000 euros
If the manufacturer has not yet confirmed anything, this new Renault Espace should take over the technical basis Nissan X-Trail. However, it will rebuild the Austral engines, ignoring the diesel then. Customers will have a choice between a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 140 or 160 horsepower, as well as a 130-horsepower alternative and two hybrids, 160 and 200 horsepower. The SUV, which will be unveiled in the coming weeks, should cost around 36,000 euros.
