You probably remember the Maserati Alfieri concept presented in 2014, which, unfortunately and to the regret of some customers, has remained. Know that in the future, if you like a Maserati concept car, its production version may be available only to you. as? By simply telling Maserati that you are willing to pay the price.
In an interview with our colleagues from Top Gear, Davide Deisen, Maserati’s chief engineer, talked about the future strategies of the manufacturer from Modena. The personalization department will gain more and more importance the brand will also focus on more exclusive modelslimited edition and unique products.
Soon it will be possible to create the Maserati of your dreams
So we’re back to where we started: If you liked the Maserati Alfieri and still can’t get over the rejection of that project (even though the new Gran Turismo partially took it away), you can call Maserati and order one to demo. In this case, the limit depends only on your budget.
You can even go back in time and request a reproduction of the legendary Boomerang with a more modern mechanical base. In short, Maserati will usher in the world of hyper-personalization with exclusive designs and unique products, as some very high-end manufacturers do, such as Ferrari and Bugatti, to name a few.
At the same time, in addition to these exclusive models, Maserati also intends to develop “special” models, not necessarily unique, but with very limited production. Here again, the transalpine manufacturer is inspired by other manufacturers such as Lamborghini with the Countach LPI 800-4 or the Ferrari Daytona SP3.
More Maserati exclusives to come
Becoming an exclusive manufacturer has a double interest for Maserati. The first is obviously to restore its image after a difficult period and aging products, but for this the new range will undoubtedly give a real face lift. Another interest, and this is undoubtedly the most important, is the financial aspect.
For what ? Simply because the development of a unique car from A to Z represents a colossal investment and costs several million euros. In fact, Maserati will be based on certain models such as the MC20 or the Gran Turismo, and develop a unique model on this basisfor example, with more engine power or even unique body lines.
This is, for example, what we saw from Ferrari with the SP48 Unica, a unique model developed on the basis of the technical platform of the Ferrari F8 Tributo. And obviously, the advantage of this type of car is that it can be exchanged for several thousand or even millions of euros, because it is unique and allows a significant margin for the manufacturer, as well as being a new means of communication.
