MOT is mandatory when you own a car. We remind you that it should be done for the first time four years after the purchase of a new vehicle, then every two years. After that, several types of breakdowns are planned, ranging from the least important to the most serious, which then require traffic to be closed until the problem is resolved. At the time, this was a big concern for motorists, but it actually affects very few cars. But then what is the assessment of 2022 in the field of technical control? ThatUTAC-OTC reveals to us
Technical inspection is theoretically mandatory for all cars. However, there are models exempt from any checks! https://t.co/fLJLrlczh5

An aging park
In general, rolling stock ages over the years. Indeed, the average age was 10.6 years in 2020 and 11 years last year. But that’s not all, because the average age of vehicles checked in the centers was 12.5 years against 11.2 years in 2013. A significant difference, which indicates that motorists are keeping their cars longer and longer. As for classic cars, the average age of tested cars is 46.5 years, which is quite high. In fact, the proportion of car older than 10 years is now 59.01%.
Fewer repeat visits
If the age of the vehicles increases, they are, however, in better condition than before. Indeed, return visits decreased from 19.90% in 2021 to 19.44%. This, of course, is not much, but it is still pleasing. Most of the counter visits concern the low beam orientation of the headlights, as well as badly damaged tires. There pollution this is also a question that comes up a lot, along with lighting glitches.
